Online Casino Games - French Roulette

What is French Roulette?

French Roulette is a fast paced game of chance and betting skill. It consists of a Roulette wheel, on a table, with numbered pockets ranging from 0 to 36.

It is based on the casino French style of Roulette. The object is to predict where the ball will land and to bet on that location.

Rules of How to Play French Roulette

There are three types of bets in French Roulette - Inside bets, Outside bets, and Call bets. You can place different bet types on the table at the same time during a French Roulette game. Each bet type has a maximum betting limit which can be found by contacting the Casino Support Staff.

Let's take a look at each type of bet. Inside bets come in five different forms. There are the Single Number or Straight Up bets where you bet on a single number and the chip is placed in the center of the number. There are the Upwards and Sideways, Double or Split, bets where you bet on two adjacent numbers and the chip is placed on the line that separates the numbers. There are the Three on a row or Street bets where you bet on any three numbers in a row and place the chip on the outside line at the start of the row. There are the Box of Four or Square bets where you bet on a block of four numbers and place the chip on the spot in the center of your four Straight Up numbers. Finally, there are the Box of Six or Line bets where you bet on six numbers, made up of two adjacent rows. Here the chip is placed on the line above Dozen bets so that it rests between the two rows you want to cover. Look at how many exciting ways there are to make Inside bets!

Now for the Outside bets. Outside bets come in three forms. There are the Column bets where you bet on one of the three vertical columns and place the chip at the bottom of the column. There are Dozen bets where you bet on twelve numbers at the same time. You can bet on the first twelve numbers, 1 to 12 as a Premiere 12 bet and place the chip on P12; you can bet on the middle twelve numbers, 12 to 24 as a Moyenne 12 bet and place the chip on M12; or you bet on the last twelve numbers, 25 to 36, as a Derniere 12 bet and place the chip on D12.

Finally, there are the Even-Money Outside bets. There are six types of these. There is the Manque 1 to 18 bet where you bet on the first eighteen numbers, 1 to 18 and the chip is placed in the Manque 1 to 18 area. Then there is the Passe 19 to 36 bet where the bet is on the last eighteen numbers, 19 to 36 and the chip is placed in the Passe 19 to 36 area. Next there is the Pair Even bet where you bet on the eighteen even numbers and place the chip in the Pair Even area. There is the Impair Odd bet where the bet is placed on the eighteen odd numbers and the chip is placed in the Impair Odd area. The last two Even-Money Outside bets are the Red and the Black bets.

Finally, we come to the third type of bet in French Roulette and that is the Call bet. You have 33 different combinations of Call bets to keep you busy for hours! The various bets are as follows: The Les Voisins Du Zero bet has 9 total chips placed on 1, 2 and 3, 4 and 7, 12 and 15, 18 and 21, 19 and 22, 25 and 28, 26 and 29, 32 and 35. The Tiers Du Cylindre bet has 6 total chips places on 5 and 8, 10 and 11, 13 and 16, 23 and 24, 27 and 30, and 33 and 36. The Les Orphelins bet has 5 total chips placed on 1, 6 and 9, 14 and 17, 17 and 20 and 31 and 34. The Finales En Plein 0 bet has 4 total chips placed on 1, 10, 20, and 30. The Finales En Plein 1 bet has 4 total chips placed on 1, 11, 21, and 31. The Finales En Plein 2 through the Finales En Plein 6 bets all have 4 total chips placed on the numbers that correspond to them (for instance, the Finales En Plein 2 bets on 2, 12, 22, and 32 while the Finales En Pleain 3 bets on 3, 13, 23, and 33, etc.) The Finales En Plein 7 through the Finales En Plein 9 all have 3 total chips that correspond to their number as well (for instance, the Finales En Plein 7 bets on 7, 17 and 27).

Next are the Finales A Cheval Call Bets. The Finales A Cheval 0 and 1 bet places 5 total chips on 0 and 1, 10 and 11, 20 and 21, 30 and 31. The Finales A Cheval 1 and 2 bet places 5 total chips on 1 and 2, 11 and 12, 21, 22, and 31 and 32. The Finales A Cheval 2 and 3 bet places 5 total chips on 2 and 3, 12, 13, 22 and 23, and 32 and 33. The Finales A Cheval 3 and 4 bet places 6 total chips on 3, 4, 13 and 14, 23 and 24, 33 and 34. The Finales A Cheval 4 and 5 bet places 5 total chips on 4 and 5, 14 and 15, 24, 25, 34 and 35. The Finales A Cheval 5 and 6 bet places 5 total chips on 5 and 6, 15, 16, 25 and 26, and 35 and 36. Similarly, the Finales A Cheval 6 and 7 bet places 5 total chips on 6, 7, 16 and 17, 26 and 27, and 36. There are then ten bets that all follow the same pattern and all place 4 total chips. These are the Finales A Cheval 7 and 8, the Finales A Cheval 8 and 9, the Finales A Cheval 9 and 10, the Finales A Cheval 0 and 3, the Finales A Cheval 1 and 4, the Finales A Cheval 2 and 5, the Finales A Cheval 3 and 6, the Finales A Cheval 4 and 7, the Finales A Cheval 5 and 8, and the Finales A Cheval 6 and 9. Each of these uses all of the numbers between 0 and 36 that correspond to the numbers in the title. For instance, the Finales A Cheval 7 and 8 bets on 7 and 8, 17 and 18, 27 and 28.

Finally, there are three more Call bets. The Finales A Cheval 7 and 10 places 3 total chips on 7 and 10, 17 and 20, and 27 and 30. The Finales A Cheval 8 and 11 places 3 chips on 8 and 11, 18 and 21, and 28 and 31. The Finales A Cheval 9 and 12 places 3 chips on 9 and 12, 19 and 22 and 29 and 32.

How to Win at French Roulette

Winning at French Roulette is very straightforward. You win when the ball falls on the numbers upon which you placed your bet. The amount you win varies depending on the type of bet that you placed. Straight Up bets pay out at 35:1. This means that if you bet one credit on a Straight Up bet and your number comes up, you are paid 36 credits. The odds on this type of bet are 35 to 1. So, 35 credits won plus 1 credit bet equals 36 credits payout. For a Split bet the odds are 17:1; for a Street bet the odds are 11:1; for a Square bet the odds are 8:1; for a Line bet the odds are 5:1; for a Column bet the odds are 2:1;for a Dozen bet the odds are 2:1; and for Even-Money bets the odds are 1:1.

Again, for another example, if you bet 10 credits on a Dozen bet, and your number comes up, you are paid 30 credits. The odds on a Dozen bet are 2:1. So, your total amount won is 20 credits and you placed 10 credits, for a total of 30 credits. Note one important point: When the ball lands on a Zero and you have placed Even-Money bets, the La Partage rule applies. You only lose half of your Even-Money bet amount.
