start with the basics. The game is played with one standard deck of cards. The
player bets and is then dealt two cards face up; the dealer is dealt a hole card
and an up card. He can peek if the up card has a value of 10 or is an ace. The
dealer must hit on a soft 17. The player can split up to three times and he can
double down after splitting. Aces can be split more than once and even
non-identical 10-value cards can be split. The surrender rule is in effect (a
player can stop playing and surrender half his bet if he feels he won't be
winning the hand).

All the above is what makes Super Fun 21 so very much like
blackjack, but what are the differences that make it special and unique and so
exciting? Well, first of all, a player's hand of six cards or more totaling 20
or less always wins, even against a dealer blackjack (although this is not
applicable if the player has already doubled down). Any hand containing five or
more cards that total 21 pays 2:1. And here's another special bonus - a
blackjack with the suit of diamonds (known as the Diamond Blackjack) pays 2:1.

By the way, to compensate for these generous rules and bonuses, a non-diamonds blackjack in a game of Super Fun 21 pays out even money (and not the 3:2 that it pays in a regular blackjack game).
